    August Goals

Remember that one time I was totally unprepared for Atlas to come home from the hospital and super unrealistic about how much of my time he’d take up each day? That’s basically what happened to July goals. But now that I’m kind of getting the rhythm of things (who am I kidding, there’s no real rhyme or reason to this kid) I’m more confident in getting things done. My original goal was to start working full time again in August. Funny, right? That’s not happening. I’m in the middle of revamping the way I do my design work, my pricing…

Blog + Biz Goals for July 2015

Each month I plan to share my blog and biz goals as well as results from previous months. My intention is to be as transparent and helpful as possible to others in creative business by sharing more behind the scenes type of information that most blogs and businesses don’t really give out. Since I’m currently on maternity leave and also taking some time off to mourn the loss of my father, along with summer generally being slow for design work, I’m working on my business and blog while I have a little extra time not doing client work. Goal #1 |…

Goals // February Results + March Goals

Each time a new month rolls over, just like when a new year or a new week roll over, I feel a sense of freshness and want to kick off the new month with a bang. For a while I was sharing weekly goals, but I think I’m going to keep it simple and share monthly goals instead. Keeping focus on a few key goals each month helps me stay on course and feel accomplished at the end of the month. You know, as long as I actually achieve some of them. February was kind of a fail, but it…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 17

It’s my birthday this week so I’m keeping my wishes light again. I have a lot planned for the week like a day full of pregnancy related appointments, a rescue meeting, etc. so I want to make sure to not overwhelm myself with too much. It sounds so lazy, but I find that I do better at accomplishing my goals if I limit them. It’s hard because my real to do list is at least 50 items long, but it’s really worth narrowing them down to get focused. LAST WEEK’S WISHES Wrap up current design projects. Not quite. Still finishing…

February Goals & Weekly Wishes No. 16

With each passing month I just am reminded more and more that I’m not going to be any less pregnant anytime soon and when I am done being pregnant I’ll have a baby to care for! Talk about pressure to get my life, house and business in order. Sheesh! Below I’m sharing some goals for February as well as smaller goals for the coming week. FEBRUARY GOALS Get the house back in order. This is my number one priority. I’m not feeling sick all day anymore so I want to spend February cleaning our and organizing the garage so we…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 15

The last few weeks have been so hectic that I didn’t have a chance to jot down my weekly wishes. All last week we spent every night, after Blaine got off from work, packing up my parents house. Since they spend maybe one or two weekends here a month we all decided it’d be best if they just “moved in” with us instead of wasting money on a house that they were never at. Plus, it’ll be nice to split expenses with them and for them to be in the same house with us once the baby comes. It’ll make…

    Weekly Wishes // No 14

Starting 2015 right with a Weekly Wishes post! Happy New Year, everyone! Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I’ve basically been in bed or on the couch. Though I started feeling bit better a couple weeks ago, with the holidays and still feeling generally gross it was hard to get motivated. But with the new year and the help of my new planner, I feel like I’m (slowly) getting back to my “old” self. I’ve got a lot of business and blog planning to do this week to set myself up for the next month and maybe I’ll…

Declutter 500 in 2014 Update + Join Me!

I’m so happy to report that things are going really with with my Declutter 500 in 2014 challenge! I wrote about it at the beginning of the year in my goals for 2014 and I’m going strong. My updated numbers are below, but I just wanted to give an update as to how I’m feeling about getting rid of so much in one year. Our decluttering really started probably about two years ago. Blaine and I have both seen our parents get buried in stuff (not literally) after a lifetime of accumulating. We both agreed that we didn’t want to…

October’s New Habit // Make Someone Smile

After committing to do this through the year I somehow fell off the habit-making habit in April! I definitely want this to be a regular monthly thing so I’m bringing it back even though it’s a week into October. OCTOBER’S NEW HABIT Try to make someone smile everyday I have to admit this month’s habit is a little bit cheesy, but I want to make a habit out of making people feel good. All it takes is a compliment, a smile from yourself or holding open a door to make someone smile. Since I work from home I’m going to…
