    2019 In Review

What an amazing year! I just wanted to take a few minutes to review some of our highlights from 2019. January 2019 We started the year out with our first (and last) camping trip of the year. We went to Santa Paula which isn’t too far from us and just spent some time hanging out at the campsite. We even brought the dogs with us as a trial to see how they’d do. It ended up raining a lot that trip, but we had a good time! Right after getting home one of our dogs, Einstein, got out during a…

    New house, new life

It’s how crazy how much can change in so little time! Thinking about it now it was just a few months ago we were planning on buying another house about an hour outside of Tehachapi to get back to “civilization”. As much as I truly love Tehachapi, it felt a little lonely. I wanted more opportunities for Atlas and honestly, we were just ready for a change. But then we got to talking my mom and long story short we’re now living by the beach in an area we’ve always wanted to live in! I could not be more happy…

    Atlas | One Year

It’s blowing my mind that Atlas is officially a year old. The last week has been jam packed between my sister coming into town, a day at Disneyland and then his first birthday party at our house. I was so busy at his party I took zero pictures! But I’ve been able to collect a few from friends and family. Dear Atlas, Somehow you made it to one year old and I feel like you were a tiny little boy rocking in my arms just a few weeks ago. You’re entering a stage I’ve decided to call “the wiggly stage”…

    2015 Takeaways & Lessons

If there’s anything that I can thank 2015 for, besides my son, it’s all of the life lessons. It can happen to you All of those things that happen to “other people” can happen to you. I’ve realized that up until 2014 I’ve lived a pretty stable and charmed life. Life is short Such a cliche, but it is for a reason. I’m getting into the habit of not wasting a minute of it on anything that isn’t worth it. Motherhood is so many things Unpredictable, all-consuming, hard but at the same time easy. It’s so much different, but at…

    Atlas | 8 Months

Dear Atlas, Please SLOW DOWN. I’m begging! I’m so happy to see you growing and changing. You’re learning new things everyday and becoming more and more playful and active. But, as I think I ask in every monthly update, please chill out a little bit. I feel like even when I do my best to savor each moment, I can’t get enough and you’re going and changing on me again. Right now you absolutely love jumping in your jumparoo and you are just barely starting to seem a bit clingy with your dad and I. In fact, this evening you…

    Atlas | 7 Months

Dear Atlas, Seriously, how are you 7 months old already? You continue to change and grow every single day and part of me is so excited for each new step while the other part is sad to say bye to the “old you”. The past month has been a little bit stressful. In September it turns out you only gained 3oz. I had guessed you were 12 lbs for you 6 month post since it had been a while since we saw your pediatrician, but I was so wrong! You’re now 11.5 pounds and we’re working to get you to…

    October Goals + September Recap

Each month I like to share my goals. Last month I only shared blog and business goals due to my son taking up most of my time. But I think I'm ready to share some personal goals as well. I'll still keep my goals light since having an infant takes up about 90% of my time, but I think goals are important and motivating!SEPTEMBER GOAL RECAPConsistent Posting. FAIL I have been posting, but I wouldn't call it consistent as in every Mon/Wed/Fri like I had been hoping to. But I'm finding a balance and need to figure out what works for me…

    Atlas | 6 Months

Dear Atlas, Happy 6 months, baby boy! I can’t believe how quickly half a year has flown by. At 6 months old, your corrected age is three months. You seem so big to us, but still so tiny at the same time. I look back at pictures from the last 6 months and can hardly believe any of it. There was a time, a time that covered most of my life, where I never believed you would exist. Yet here you are: our perfect miracle baby. While the days can be hard, especially when you’re having a rough time, loving…

Park Date with Atlas + Mommy Thoughts

On Friday Atlas and I had our very first park date. Last week was the first hint at fall and it was cool enough to be outside for a couple of hours. I grabbed a couple of blankets, some stuff to do in case he decided to nap and, of course, Atlas. We have this beautiful, tree filled, park in town about 5 minutes from our house and I was surprised that at 3pm on a Friday that it was mostly empty! It was ever so slightly breezy and the perfect…

Side note: this was supposed to post on Wednesday but my mommy brain forgot to schedule it. So two posts today it is! I like to check in and do fun little posts here and there. I’m in the midst of a whirlwind of a fussy baby, doctors appointments galore and attempting to get back into some sort of routine. I’m itching to get back to actual work, not just prepping to get back to work, if that makes sense. But I don’t want to go back until I know I’ll be able to focus on my clients and give…
