Weekly Wishes // No 13 + November Goals

Over the weekend Venice got adopted and while life pretty much went back to normal, my heart aches every time I find a picture or find something that reminds me of her. Her new mom is amazing and I’m sure will be a better home than I could’ve given her, but after having her in my house and heart for four months it’s tough. I’ll definitely do a proper post about my experience with her like I have with my other fosters shortly. The rest of the day on Saturday was spent hanging out in my sisters room watching scary…

Weekly Wishes // No. 12 + eCourse Launches Tomorrow!

Busy, busy weekend! Exhausting, but rewarding. It all started Thursday night when we loaded up all of my sisters stuff to move her from my parents to my house. We filled in the extra space in the truck with stuff my parents wanted to get rid of. Over a lifetime you collect a lot of stuff without even noticing or meaning to and I’m trying to help free them of it (with their permission!). This is why I’m so dedicated to simplifying and decluttering – to avoid a garage, attic and storage space full of stuff I don’t need or…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 11

Vegas this weekend was the perfect mix of fun and relaxing. When you think of a girl in her mid-late 20’s (side note: omg, I think I’m considered late-20’s now) in Vegas you generally get the party/club/drinking scene in your head. Nope, not this girl! First of all, I usually go to Vegas with my family and have been since I was a tiny little one. Second, hotel beds are just way too cozy to stay out late. Both nights we were in the room by midnight only to have my parents walk in the room around 2-3 am waking…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 10

Happy Monday! Well, last weeks wishes didn’t really happen as you’ll see below. I truly don’t know what happened last week. I spent half my time majorly productive, half in a rut. I spent my productive time on client projects, so any other goals were in “rut mode”. It was just one of those weeks, you know? Over the weekend I continued my rut and basically lounged around all day on Saturday. Sometimes you need those days, I think, because I feel much better now. On Sunday Blaine, my sister and I spent several hours cleaning out my parents garage,…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 9

Happy Monday! The weekend was a good one with our annual Paws & Pearls event for Marley’s Mutts. Getting dressed up once in a while is fun and I got to spend it with good friends. Of course, it turned into a mini sleepover party because cool kids don’t drink and drive. Sunday was spent lounging around and admiring Blaine who proves to be extremely handy and ready to tackle any project. Half a day to install a window when he’s never done it before? No problem. Now he’s ready to replace all the older windows in the house, you…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 8

Oh boy. Last week was a tough one to get my weekly wishes done. I seem to have bitten off a bit more than I can chew (aka bad scheduling/time management) so I ended up just working on client work and rescue stuff all week. I really do want to make blogging a set-in-stone priority, but I also need to find a balance of NOT being on the computer for 10 hours a day for mental and physical health. Finding balance seems to be something that is constantly evolving, doesn’t it? You find it, something changes and then you have…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 6

Woo, Monday! I had a busy, fun and tiring week last week. Monday through Friday I was on vacation with my family in Monterey which was so nice and a great escape from the heat of summer. Then when I got home Friday night at almost 10pm Blaine reminded me his 10 year high school reunion was the next day. So less than 24 hours after coming home I was back out on the road. The reunion was fun, he got to connect with old friends, but 10 year reunions are weird. It’s still a bit close to high school…

Weekend Happenings & Weekly Wishes No. 5

Over the weekend we made our way down to the LA/Ventura area for several events and had entirely too much fun. We celebrated my Lola’s (grandma) 86th birthday, went to the Ventura County Fair and then went to a good friends birthday party. Between the fair food, the alcohol and the lack of sleep I woke up feeling like I needed a detox. A green smoothie for breakfast and a salad for lunch did the trick and I’m back to my normal self, aside from feeling gross due to the humidity today. Every time we head to “civilization” and get…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 4

Happy Monday! I spent the weekend pet sitting and getting a lot of work done. There’s something about being in a different environment that gets me going. Hotels, other peoples homes, coffee shops, etc. are all places I tend to work really well in. Working from home is truly amazing, but also truly distracting. It also helps that I’m completely alone (apart from the dogs I’m watching) so I have no distractions in that sense either. Blaine and I get so lazy when we’re together. I think part of it is we feel like we need to spend time together…

    Weekly Wishes // No. 3

I love Monday! Each week I like to start off with a review of the previous weeks goals and a fresh set of goals for the week ahead. Obviously this isn’t all I’m doing each week, but since my to do list is always a mile long it’s nice to have just a few things to focus on and feel accomplished at the end of the week. LAST WEEK’S WISHES Finish 2013 taxes (!!!) Semi-fail. I got together everything I need, all the papers, my schedule C for both my businesses, etc. Finish editorial calendar for July. Done and done!…
